Kirsi Marie Liimatainen - Director

Kirsi Marie Liimatainen studied Theatre and Drama in her home town of Tampere in Finland. For almost ten years she worked as an actress for film, television and theatre. In 1999 she joined the directing class at Potsdam-Babelsberg film school (HFF). After her graduation, she started developing the documentary Comrade, where are you today? and the feature The Scream of the Butterfly. As a director she´s also working on the feature film Festung.

Kirsi held lectures and workshops on directing in Helsinki, Turku, Vilna and Berlin. She took part in Cinéfondation´s Résidence du Festival programme in Cannes, in the Binger Lab in Amsterdam and in the Script&Pitch Torino Film Lab.
